报告题目:High Pressure Synthesis of Novel Quantum Functional Materials and Physics Properties Characterizations

报告简介:Pressure is one of the independent thermodynamic parameters, and has played an important role in determining the state of materials like temperature and composition [1]. It can be effective in shortening atomic distance, enhancing orbital overlap, and consequently modifying crystalline structures and tuning interactions. Thus, people can realize novel states & synthesize new materials under high pressure. In this talk first I give a short description about the application of pressure in material science, and the research field of my group. Finally, I will give a detailed introduction about our recent works, including: 1) Synthesis of new transition metal oxidizes (PbFeO3 and PbHg3Ti4O12) and the discovery of ferroelectricity, charge ordering, spin reorientation properties [2, 3]; 2) High pressure growth single crystal of Kitaev-type quantum spin liquid RuBr3 and physical properties characterization [4].

报告人简介:
北京高压科学研究中心研究员,博士生导师,课题组长。吉林大学物理学学士和凝聚态物理硕士,中科院物理研究所凝聚态物理博士。主要从事新型量子功能材料(如铁电材料,超导材料等)高压下的制备、单晶生长和和物性表征研究;量子序(自旋、电荷和轨道序)的高压、低温和强磁场条件下的物性调控。在J. Am. Chem. Soc., Nature Comm., Phys. Rev. Lett.和Chem. Mater.等杂志发表七十余篇论文,引用1500余次。主持国家自然科学基金面上项目,北京市自然科学基金面上项目和国家重点研发计划子课题等。现任中国材料研究学会“极端材料和器件”分会委员,《高压物理学报》和“The Innovations”杂志青年编委。
